Carlos Sainz was stuck and couldn’t get off the line for the formation lap so the FIA decided to abort the lap. We went back to the 10min procedure where we waited another 10 mins until lights out, and mechanics can touch the car. Coming into the pit lane the Williams car of Carlos was on fire. Unfortunately they couldn’t fix it and Carlos didn’t start the race.

When we eventually got away Lando had a great start with Oscar getting ahead of Leclerc on the first corner. A safety car was deployed because Antonelli locked up and crashed into the Red Bull of Verstappen. Lap 3 we restarted. A couple of laps later Oscar was heavy on Lando’s tail.

Lap 11 Oscar passed Lando on the apex but Oscar later locked up and Lando maintained his position. Oscar locked up again on lap 20 when battling Lando, and Lando decided to pit. Oscar pitted on lap 25 with the under cut working successfully for Oscar, with him, coming out behind his teammate.

Lap 31 Colopinto and Tsunoda touched but they were able to carry on. Tsunoda was given a 10sec penalty for causing a collision. Bad day at the office for Red Bull. A couple of laps later the old alpine teammates Ocon and Gasly were fighting for P8, Ocon successfully overtook him and it was then Ocon’s teammate Bearman overtook Gasly.

17 laps remaining Lando came in for a quick pitstop closely followed by Oscar. Oscar came out behind Colapinto and Tsunoda. Colapinto drifted over to the side and went wheel to wheel with Piastri who had to drive on the grass. Lap 64 Lando was notified via his radio that he had a bit of damage on his front wing which was giving him balance issues. Really not what he would’ve wanted with his teammate closing in.

3 laps remaining Ollie Bearman overtook Hadjar for P11 and Gabriel Bortoleto was in his manager’s, (Fernando Alonso) mirrors, who was going wheel to wheel with Bortoleto but Bortoleto bailed out. This squabble was happening between the McLaren drivers too.
