  • Lando Norris’ Style Evolution

From Lando No-wins, to contender for the championship title, from wearing skinny jeans to £12,000 jeans made by American Streetwear brand Chrome Hearts. McLaren F1 Team driver Lando Norris, being 1 of the 20 fastest drivers in the world, is photographed often. So lets take a look at his style evolution from 6 years ago when he was a rookie to now.

In 2019 Lando was a little Brit boy, a little fish in a big pond. As many drivers do he repped the McLaren merch every race weekend (bright papaya t-shirt or jumper) and paired it with skinny jeans, whilst wearing his papaya cap backwards. His colour palette consisted of orange and black almost 100% of the time.

Lando launched Quadrant in 2020, the gaming and lifestyle brand co-founded by Lando and his best friend and former racing driver Max Fewtrell. Quadrant merges Lando’s love for gaming, content and apparel, consisting of basic t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts. It was nothing special, in fact exactly what you would expect for merch. He began incorporating Quadrant merch into his race day outfits, occasionally mixing it with McLaren attire.

2021 Lando, still an avid McLaren merch fan, frequently entered the paddock in casual clothes, still skinny jeans, sometimes ripped ones, horrific I know. However after passing through the paddock and ensuring he was photographed, he’d quickly change into team wear for press conferences and track walks.

We began seeing a change in 2022. He was interviewed by fashion magazine, Vanity Fair, along with other drivers. Styled by Micheal Darlington he sported some big names; Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and even a Tiffany & Co brooch. It seemed after tasting luxury fashion he was hooked. Not only was he wearing luxury brands he was partnering with them, launching a watch with one of McLaren’s sponsors, Richard Mille, which he is frequently seen wearing. These luxury watches, have a starting price of $80,000! Not only did he collaborate with RM he also collaborated with luxury baggage company Tumi to create his own baggage collection, the colour palette still black and orange.

After 4 years dressed in the same look Lando walked into the 2023 paddock with a goatee. People say hair changes everything about a person and this was once again proven correct. Lando’s wardrobe consisted of Drew (Justin Bieber’s clothing brand), trading McLaren merch for classic quarter zips or crisp button ups and even luxury designer brand Loewe. Quadrant launched a new collection called The Club Athletic Collection which he modelled, whilst playing golf, a very classy aesthetic. The collection included rugby shirts and quarter zips, very different from the stereotypical merch drops.

July 2024 Vogue published an article about Lando being the next fashion icon of Formula 1. Could he be following in the ultimate fashion icon, Lewis Hamilton’s footsteps? The year of his maiden win with more and more attention being drawn to him, his jeans got baggier and baggier. Yes he finally ditched the skinny ripped jeans. His bad-boy street style became more apparent with backwards caps or beanies and baggy jeans. Many of his outfits were still all black or dark but now he was beginning to wear his clothes with style and swagger.

Coming into the 2025 season Lando is a serious contender for the championship and his style has never been better. He entered the Japanese paddock with Levis X Chrome Hearts jeans at a cost of up to £12,000, this obviously caught lots of fans attention and they began to realise how much his style had evolved. Also Lando walked through the Bahrain Paddock in a Casablanca (contemporary fashion brand) crochet cardigan, and paired it with Rhode X McLaren shorts. Still wearing team merch but in a subtle way and making it his own.

Additionally in 2025 Quadrant had a makeover and launched The Make Your Mark Campaign, which featured a new logo. The new launch focuses on quality, and not quantity, with fewer – but elevated drops. The brand is set to have stands at motorsport events so fans can purchase the new drops first. Their first drop was inspired by the Japanese car scene, and included hoodies, bandanas and the Moto jersey which is a best-seller (though it’s a bit pricey at £110).The most recent drop The Blueprint, mirrors Lando’s street style, with basic tanks, baby tees and hoodies in neutral tones, styled with an edge and paired with jorts, which have been all the rage, or baggy jeans.

Lando is now one of F1’s fashion icons, often sporting designer brands. He easily switches from a classy, clean ensemble with a cashmere jumper, to a bad-boy, wearing a “play-boy” co-ord on the streets of Monaco. His brand Quadrant has reflected his change in style from simple merch hoodies to a streetwear brand. Similarly his brand LN4 which is his Official Merch Store launched a collection specifically for his home race of Silverstone this year (he also took over a grandstand and made it high-vis green replicating his helmet). The collection included a jersey with his high-vis green blob print, which went viral with the help of artist Tate McRae who created a song for the F1 movie ‘Just Keep Watching’. She posted a TikTok wearing the jersey whilst lip-syncing to her song and it now has over 13 million views and 1.9 million likes! It’s safe to say that the jersey is flying off the shelves.

Who knows we might see Max Verstappen following in his footsteps.

  • Race 14: Hungary

Lap 1 Charles had a great getaway but Lando Norris lost 2 positions going from P3 to P5. Charles quickly created distance between him and the McLaren of Oscar Piastri.

Both Saubers were under investigation for a false start. Bortoleto was spared and proceeded chasing his boss, Alonso for P5. However Hulkenberg was given a 5 second penalty.

Norris began closing in on Russell for P3 and by lap 11 had DRS.

Lap 20 Russell and Leclerc pit, leaving Norris leading the race, but still waiting to pit. Many drivers were thinking about the one stop while Charles Leclerc was doubting his chance of winning.

Lap 30 Max and Hamilton battled it out at turn 4 for P11, with Hamilton running wide, Max gained the position. Lap 31 Lando came in for a rapid 1.9 second pit stop and came out P4 behind Russell.

The one stop worked well for Lando as he was now leading the pack. Lap 49 Bearman was told to retire the car. Lap 51 Oscar overtook Leclerc for P2 and he began hunting down his teammate.

With less than 10 laps remaining Russell was hot on an angry Charles Leclerc’s tail. George was quick on the radio accusing Charles of moving under braking, which he was under investigation for and received a 5 second penalty. Russell made the move and gained P3.

The last 6 laps saw a tense battle between the McLaren drivers. Lando keeping his cool out in front and Oscar closing in on him with DRS. Oscar locked up when he lunged for an overtake. All eyes were glued to the screen and Lando handled it beautifully. Lando charged to the finish line and he got the win. McLaren’s 4th consecutive 1-2, meaning they go into the summer break on a high!

Top 10: Norris, Piastri, Russell, Leclerc, Alonso, Bortoleto, Stroll, Lawson, Verstappen, Antonelli

  • Female Roles in Formula 1

    What is Formula 1:

Formula 1 is the highest ranked international, single-seat racing series. 20 drivers compete in 24 races for the World Drivers Championship. There are 10 teams (2 drivers each team) which compete against each other for the Constructor’s Championship. Day or night, rain or dry the high-speed and high powered cars will drive on tracks across the world, from Abu Dhabi to Australia to the UK. The drivers drive at speeds up to 233mph in the pouring rain or sweltering heat all for the maximum amount of money for their team, in order to improve their car. F1 is a male dominated sport with very little women behind the scenes and no female racing drivers.

    Sexism in Formula 1

Formula 1 is seriously lacking in female talent on and off the track, 2025 is the year F1 welcomes the first female engineer, Laura Muller. Women are seriously over looked in the majority male sport. Christian Horner former Red Bull Team Principal, made all the important decision for the team. Christian Horners’ comment on girls having an interest in F1 was, ‘F1 is bringing in a lot of young girls because of all these great looking young drivers.’  Quite rightly he received a lot of backlash from this comment and has now contradicted himself in multiple interviews. Last year Christian Horner had allegations made against him by a female colleague, this will be taken to a civil court later this year.

    Formula 1 Academy

F1 Academy is a championship founded by the Formula One Group solely for women. The purpose is to introduce young women to Formula 1. Women from 16-25 race in 18 identical single-seat cars across 7 countries around the world. In 2024, an additional Wild Card entry was introduced at select rounds to help strengthen the talent pool in the regions where F1 Academy races. It prioritises talented young drivers from each race region. 2025 is the 3rd season of Formula 1 Academy, each race weekend includes 1 qualifying session and 2 races, one with a reverse order so teams and drivers can pick up maximum points. So far the previous F1 Academy champions have been Martia Garcia and Abbi Pulling. All the Formula 1 teams have supported a F1 Academy driver, therefore the driver is introduced to the teams driver programme, wears a race suit and drives a car with that teams design/sponsoring. On May 28th a Netflix series on last years season was released. The 7 part series called F1: The Academy is produced by Reese Witherspoon and it follows all the women battling it out on track.

    Laura Muller

Laura Muller is the first female race engineer for Haas driver Esteban Ocon. Race engineer is a key role as the person who works closest to the drivers on the performance, set up and running of their car. It is their voice that you can hear talking to the drivers on TV.

    Susie Wolff

Susie Wolff is a former Scottish racing driver and managing director of F1 Academy. At the 2014 British Grand Prix Susie became one of the first female drivers to race in a grand prix, one year later she retired from racing and in 2016 she launched a programme to include more women in motorsport. In 2017 she was awarded a MBE for her contribution to women in motorsport. In March 2023 Susie was appointed managing director of F1 Academy.

    Naomi Schiff

Naomi Schiff is a Rwandan and Belgium TV presenter and former racing driver.  She has raced in Formula Volkswagen, Rally cars and Supercars. Also she has competed in endurance races where the car is driven for 24 hours. She put her helmet down in 2021 and since then she has become an F1 Sky Sports presenter where she regularly interviews drivers and commentates on races.

    Bernie Collins

Bernie Collins is an accomplished race strategist. She was responsible for the preparation, implantation and analysis of race strategies. During her time at Queen’s University, in Ireland she took part in a competition building an F1 car. That and her degree in Engineering helped her land a job at McLaren. After McLaren she went to Force India which later became, Aston Martin F1 team, where she was Head of Race Strategy. After retiring from race strategy she became a Sky Sports F1 presenter too and she’s commonly seen at the races and on TV talking through the different race strategies.

Thank you for reading the many different career paths there are in Formula 1 for women. I, myself am very interested in F1 journalism/presenting and I look up to all of these women.

  • Race 12: Great Britain

After a formation lap behind the safety car, drivers came into the pit lane to change their tyres due to the semi-wet track. It was lights out and away we go and Verstappen was ahead of Piastri at turn 1. Lap 2 we had a VSC because Ocon had bumped into Lawson. Also on his last Grand Prix for Alpine (based on his contract) Franco Colapinto retired from the race. We restarted with a yellow flag again because Bortolleto had bashed into the barriers, he managed to get away, but was told to retire the car. Another safety car was deployed as Bortoleto couldn’t drive back to the pit lane owing to the fact the damaged car was too dangerous to drive.

Lap 7 the VSC ended with Oscar gaining on Max. The following lap Oscar made his move. Those on the slicks swapped for more suitable tyres as the rain had started again. Lap 11 Lando and Max had a battle for P2, Max went wide and Lando took advantage. The McLaren’s double stacked their cars but unfortunately Oscar’s pit stop was slower than he would’ve wanted and Lando’s was slower than Max’s. Consequently Max came out back in front of Lando. The torrential rain was estimated to last for around 10mins and half of the track suited the wet tyre compounds and the other intermediates, so there was a great deal of talk about the ‘right’ tyre compound.

Lap 14 we had a safety car as the track was dangerously wet. Lap 17 we were off again, but not for long as Isaac Hadjar rammed into the back of Antonelli, his vision was impaired, as he couldn’t see through the spray of the car in front. And yes you guessed it we had another safety car. The safety car ended on lap 21 with Max spinning around and loosing 8 places! Antonelli was told to box to retire the car on lap 23. Oscar Piastri was given a 10sec penalty for a safety car infringement meaning Oscar needed to find more pace otherwise Lando could be the winner of the GP. Yuki Tsunoda was also given a 10sec penalty for causing a collision.

Lap 35 Nico Hulkenberg overtook Lance Stroll for P3! Lap 40 it still seemed too wet for slicks which was confirmed when George Russell span off, luckily for him into the run off area and he was able to rejoin the track. Similar to Lewis. We only had 7 laps left until Lando could be on the top step and Hulkenberg could be on the podium (his first ever podium). Oliver Bearman was gaining on George Russell in the hopes for a point at his first home race.

It finished with Lando winning his home race, Oscar second and Nico Hulkenberg coming home with P3!

Top 10: Norris, Piastri, Hulkenberg, Hamilton, Verstappen, Stroll, Gasly, Alonso, Albon, Russell

  • How Aston Martin is Up-ing their Brand Game

Unfortunately, Aston Martin haven’t had the best start to the season, but with new regulations next year and Adrian Newey as Managing Technical Partner there are bound to be changes. Even so, they might not be scoring points on the track, they are, off the track with sponsors. They’ve launched I/AM DROPS, taking fan engagement to the next level with ultra-exclusive collaborations blending Formula 1 with pop-culture.’I’ standing for the individual fan and ‘AM’ standing for Aston Martin. What was their first drop? Oh, only a collaboration with British Rock Royalty, The Rolling Stones.

I/AM DROPS were introduced via Aston Martin’s socials on April 22. I/AM is a series of exclusive drops fashioned for their biggest fans. You can become a member for free and be the first to access new drops, gain special access to events, and even a trackside view at a Grand Prix. This was built with their most devoted fans in mind.

To launch their first drop, Aston Martin took over The Rolling Stones store in Carnaby Street, London, for a day, with a replica of an F1 car, a racing sim and much more. I/AM members who secured the drop received access to the private event at the store with limited edition merch. A Rolling Stones X Aston Martin t-shirt retails for £45 which is pretty standard for merch, meaning it is quite accessible for fans. The uni-sex merch includes a t-shirt, cap and hoodie with the iconic Rolling Stones logo on in an Aston Martin inspired colour way.

A few days later Aston Martin launched another collection for the Miami GP, The House DROP with DJ, Dom Dolla with exclusive merch and a lively party in Miami with Dolla as the DJ. Their most recent collaboration has been with The Santan Cup, which is an annual football tournament hosted by UK rap artist Dave. The ultimate merge of Football and Formula 1, two immensely popular, global sports. Their members had a chance to win tickets to the Santan Cup Tournament in Monaco!

    But, why?

I can’t be the only one thinking these drops are quite random and out of touch with F1. Even my Mum didn’t believe me when I told her, she went and googled it herself! So, why are they doing it? Although there isn’t a clear explanation they seem to want to break the boundaries between fan and team, with an entry ticket to a different world prioritising their fanbase. Who would say no to a free membership and a chance to win trackside access or the opportunity to meet the team? This levelling up engagement with VIP experiences is designed to connect the F1 world with other audiences. Take their first drop with The Rolling Stones both parties are important parts of British Heritage, the drops are introducing new fans from The Rolling Stones or football, to Formula 1 and Aston Martin, widening their fanbase. A membership makes you feel special and part of a community, once you feel noticed by the team you immediately favour them.

    Aston Martin X Elemis

I/AM DROPS aren’t the only new venture this year for Aston Martin, they’ve announced their Official Skincare Partner in Elemis. The two British brands collaborating are set to be “the ultimate blend of power and beauty’. The female audience of F1 is ever growing, with an estimated 40% of fans, female. Aston Martin using a skincare brand as a new sponsor will expand their female fan base. The team has been the first team to sign a skincare brand, which is already turning heads. We’ve seen Charlotte Tilbury as a title sponsor for F1 Academy but we haven’t seen a cosmetics/skincare brand branch out into F1 until now. Do you think we’ll see more skincare brands sponsoring F1 teams in the future?

The multi-year brand deal, began its journey by sending PR boxes to F1 influencers and creators. This is already creating a relationship with the public and buyers and starting a conversation. The PR packages include: an Aston Martin cap with the Elemis Logo on the visor, some of Elemis’ best selling products with focus on collagen, with anti-wrinkle properties. Maybe the PR package was sent to Fernando Alonso and that’s why he looks like a young rookie. Elemis enjoyed a pop-up spa experience on the Aston Martin luxury yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix, which was part of their partnership deal. They launched the first ever spa experience on the yacht, offering treatments and services for VIP guests. Recently they have dropped limited edition Elemis X Aston Martin sets with an exclusive Aston travel bag.

    What’s next?

Well connecting with their audience especially their younger fans. The team have paired up with stick-on nail brand Glaize to launch a nail set that matches perfectly with the car, with designs that compliment the team for example, the Union Jack, their car and a trophy. Nails have become a big part of Formula 1, with people not just wearing merch but also on their nails to races and events and Aston Martin has been the first to jump on the bandwagon.

Overall the common theme throughout is that the Aston Martin is a team for the loyal, dedicated fans. They are the only team really engaging with their fans and relating to them. Via TikTok they’ve made their drivers undertake popular trends and yes it’s very funny but it’s also an excellent way of connecting with their fans. Many teams are now following their lead.

  • F1: The Movie

F1: The Movie was released on 25th June, staring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. The film follows Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) a driver who retired decades ago after being involved in a horrific crash. After being persuaded by his friend to return to the sport, he quickly remembers the love he has for F1. It’s set to be the most realistic movie on Formula 1 using effects to give viewers the closest experience of driving an F1 car. So keep reading to see my review.

    Pros:

They achieved at what they set out to do. It was incredibly realistic and I really did feel as if I was behind the wheel. Also it amazes me that both Pitt and Idris learnt how to drive an F1 car, the amount of dedication and strength is insane. Viewers say that it was “enjoyable” and “captivating” I agree as the last scene on the track kept me on the edge of my seat. Additionally, it was humorous and fun to watch. You don’t have to be an F1 fan to be a fan of this movie, as the basic facts are easily explained throughout. Honourable mentions to the credits at the end where Lewis Hamilton’s dog, Roscoe, was credited.

    Cons:

I was very disappointed that there were only TWO women in the team! The first was a pit crew member and she was the only one to make a mistake and the other was a strategist (loosely based on Bernie Collins) who ended up having a relationship with a driver. It’s infuriating as we thought F1 was becoming more inclusive with 40% viewers being female and many members of the teams are women for example; Laura Muller (race engineer), Bernie Collins (strategist) Hannah Schmitz (principle strategy engineer) to name a few. Finally, the movie wasn’t 100% accurate but we didn’t expect it to be. The movie reminded me of the documentary Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, which follows a team in 2009 who had major financial difficulties however what they thought was impossible, happened.

    What did you think?

  • Race 11: Austria

Carlos Sainz was stuck and couldn’t get off the line for the formation lap so the FIA decided to abort the lap. We went back to the 10min procedure where we waited another 10 mins until lights out, and mechanics can touch the car. Coming into the pit lane the Williams car of Carlos was on fire. Unfortunately they couldn’t fix it and Carlos didn’t start the race.

When we eventually got away Lando had a great start with Oscar getting ahead of Leclerc on the first corner. A safety car was deployed because Antonelli locked up and crashed into the Red Bull of Verstappen. Lap 3 we restarted. A couple of laps later Oscar was heavy on Lando’s tail.

Lap 11 Oscar passed Lando on the apex but Oscar later locked up and Lando maintained his position. Oscar locked up again on lap 20 when battling Lando, and Lando decided to pit. Oscar pitted on lap 25 with the under cut working successfully for Oscar, with him, coming out behind his teammate.

Lap 31 Colopinto and Tsunoda touched but they were able to carry on. Tsunoda was given a 10sec penalty for causing a collision. Bad day at the office for Red Bull. A couple of laps later the old alpine teammates Ocon and Gasly were fighting for P8, Ocon successfully overtook him and it was then Ocon’s teammate Bearman overtook Gasly.

17 laps remaining Lando came in for a quick pitstop closely followed by Oscar. Oscar came out behind Colapinto and Tsunoda. Colapinto drifted over to the side and went wheel to wheel with Piastri who had to drive on the grass. Lap 64 Lando was notified via his radio that he had a bit of damage on his front wing which was giving him balance issues. Really not what he would’ve wanted with his teammate closing in.

3 laps remaining Ollie Bearman overtook Hadjar for P11 and Gabriel Bortoleto was in his manager’s, (Fernando Alonso) mirrors, who was going wheel to wheel with Bortoleto but Bortoleto bailed out. This squabble was happening between the McLaren drivers too.

Lando Norris won at the Red Bull Ring

Top 10: Norris, Piastri, Leclerc, Hamilton, Russel, Lawson, Alonso, Bortoleto, Hulkenberg, Ocon.

  • Race 10: Canada

George had a better launch than Max and Championship leader, Oscar Piastri lost P3 to Kimi Antonelli on the first lap. Even though, he didn’t have the best start with DRS enabled, Max was able to keep within a second of George.

Max Verstappen came in for an early pit stop on lap 13 which Russell quickly reacted to in order to cover the undercut. Lando began picking up his pace to overtake Hamilton for P2.

Lap 21 Alex Albon was told to pit but he had pushed hard, so he refused. His tyres were wearing quickly so he was overtaken, left, right and centre. He then came into the pits to trade his worn mediums for hards. Lap 27 after pitting Russell was climbing up the ranks and overtook Leclerc for P2, he then started hunting down Norris.

Lap 36 Gasly was told to swap positions with Colapinto, to see if Franco could have a snap at those in front. Max pitted and then Kimi reacted, but by using the undercut Max came out in front of Kimi.

Lap 45 a DRS train was formed from P14 to P19. On lap 49 there was a yellow flag because Alex Albon pulled into an escape road and retired from the race. Unfortunately it was a race that just didn’t go his way. The stewards handed homeboy Lance Stroll a 10 second penalty for forcing Pierre Gasly off the track. Liam Lawson became our second driver to retire from the race on lap 56.

With 3 laps to go the McLaren’s were battling it out, going wheel to wheel. Going back and forth through corners. On the straight Lando was behind Oscar and he thought he saw a gap to overtake but unfortunately it wasn’t a big enough one, Lando hit the wall and lost his front wing. Consequently the last few laps were under a safety car.

George Russell won the Canadian GP and his teammate Kimi Antonelli became the 3rd youngest driver to stand on the podium.

Top 10: Russell, Verstappen, Antonelli, Piastri, Leclerc, Hamilton, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Ocon, Sainz.

  • Race 9: Barcelona

Oscar had a perfect start however Max did overtake Lando during turn 1. Also, George lost 2 positions to both Ferrari’s, and Toto got on the radio and told George to concentrate.

Lap 7 Albon had damage so he was told to box for a new front wing. As track temperatures were decreasing Lando was able to push, to overtake Max.

Lap 9 Ferrari told Hamilton to swap with Leclerc, as Charles had more pace. A few laps later Lando overtook Max. But after Max pitted it didn’t take him long until he climbed back up into the top 3.

Lap 21 Lando boxed and came back out behind Max in P3 and a lap later Oscar boxed, coming back out in P2 giving Max the lead. However he had older tyres. Hadjar who’s had a great start to the season, overtook Nico for P9.

Unfortunately on lap 28 Alex Albon came into the pits to retire the car after contact again with Lawson, damaging another front wing. But the stewards gave Alex a 10 sec penalty so he came into the pits, took that and retired the lap after. Lap 31 Lawson and Bearman touched when Lawson tried to overtake from far back.

Lawson and Bearman had another squabble on lap 52, which almost resulted in a crash, Liam Lawson was getting a bit too cozy with some of the drivers this race. Meanwhile, Max and Lando were trying to lap them. A few laps later Kimi Antonelli ran off into the gravel at turn 10 and a safety car was deployed. McLaren double stacked for a free pit stop, along with many other drivers. After 5 laps behind the safety car the race restarted (prepare yourself because it was chaotic!) Max had a rear snap and almost touched the gravel, Charles took this to his advantage and overtook him. They had some contact but Charles was ahead and Max bailed out to the escape route. Max was very mad about this and thought Charles should receive a penalty. Verstappen was then under pressure from Russell and Max hit George during his attempt to overtake. Lap 64 Max was told to give the position back to Russell, but Max didn’t agree. He purposely bumped into George when he went round the outside for the position back. A crazy last few laps. Max received a 10 second penalty.

Top 10: Piastri, Norris, Leclerc, Russell, Hulkenberg, Hamilton, Hadjar, Gasly, Alonso, Verstappen

  • Race 8: Monaco

Reminder: There is a new rule for the Monaco Grand Prix, It’s a mandatory 2 stop race and drivers must drive 2 different tyre compounds. This means fans receive more entertainment because as everyone knows Monaco can be a bit of a ‘boring’ race.

Lap 1 Lando had a great getaway but his front tyres locked up, luckily he got away unscathed. Gabriel Bortoleto crashed into the barriers even so he was able to reverse and drive back to the pits. With very little damage to the car he was able to carry on racing. A VSC was deployed so many drivers took advantage of this to come into the pits for a cheap pit stop. A couple laps later the race restarted.

Lap 8 another yellow flag was displayed as Pierre Gasly crashed into the back of Tsunoda. Unfortunately Gasly lost a wheel and braking power. The drivers were unable to take advantage of a pit stop due to debris on the track at the entry of the pit lane. Lap 11 restarted with Max heavy on Oscar’s tail.

Lap 18 Bearman came in for his second pit stop and Hamilton and Norris for their first.

Max complained, his tyres didn’t look good and shortly came into the pits. On exiting Piastri was in front of him.

By lap 34 Lando and Charles had already lapped half the grid.

Half-way through Fernando Alonso drove into a gap to retire the car, due to his smart move a safety car was not required. Though it wasn’t the way they wanted to race, Williams used Albon to hold the drivers behind him to create a gap which enabled Carlos to pit stop.

George Russell left the track and gained an advantage but instead of giving the position back to Alex he took the 20 second drive through penalty. This weekend really hasn’t been a good one for Mercedes. Lap 55 George came into the pits to take his penalty.

A few laps later Carlos swapped back with Alex so he could hopefully finish in P9 enabling Williams to achieve a double points finish.

Within the last 9 laps Charles increased the pressure on Lando. Max was in P1 holding Lando back. Shortly after Lando asked for help from his teammate, Oscar, who had DRS on Charles which put pressure on Leclerc. 1 lap left and Max took his second pit stop leaving Lando leading the Grand Prix. If you’re a McLaren fan like me the last lap was one of the most nerve racking, last laps ever.

And Lando Norris won the Monaco Grand Prix!

Top 10: Norris, Leclerc, Piastri, Verstappen, Hamilton, Hadjar, Ocon, Lawson, Albon, Sainz
